Kids On The Avenue Children’s Centre is dedicated to providing a safe, friendly environment that fosters your child’s social and educational development.
Our educators are selected for their caring and compassionate nature, interactions are warm and responsive building trusting relationships.
Families have opportunities to be involved in the service and contribute to the program planning, we encourage families to work collaboratively with educators about the service and their child.
We respect the individual rights of all families irrespective of economic, cultural or ethnic background.
Kids on the Avenue Children Centre have 20 employees, most of which have a Diploma Qualification in childcare studies. We are very fortunate to be able to retain staff and have a very low turn over. We believe that continuity of educators working in the children’s rooms is beneficial in building trusting relationships.
We have three children’s rooms at Kids on the Avenue:

Fun and supervision
We aim to provide indoor and out door spaces for children with a range of experiences to enhance children’s learning and physical development. Adequate supervision is maintained at all times.
Meals and nutrition
We display a four weekly rotating menu providing a balanced and nutritious diet promoting healthy eating habits for all children.. We cater for individual dietary needs, allergies or religious beliefs your child may have. Our cook provides Morning Tea , Lunch, Afternoon Tea and a late snack each day all food is cooked on the premises.
Rest and relaxation
There are appropriate opportunities to meet each child’s needs for sleep and relaxation each day.
Each child’s health needs are supported by promoting effective Hygiene practices, every precaution is taken to protect children from harm and hazards likely to cause injury.
Education and development
We are guided by the National Quality Framework, our focus is to ensure the educational program and practice is stimulating and engaging ,enhancing children’s learning and development. Educators respond to children’s play ideas while encouraging children to make there own choices.Each child’s knowledge ,ideas, abilities and interests is the foundation of the program.
- A four year old kindergarten program
- Music classes every Thursday morning in the Toddlers room
- Incursions at the centre (e.g. animal farm etc)
- Special Activities (e.g. Grandparent Days, Religious holidays, celebrating children’s birthdays, St Patricks Day etc)
- Visitors (e.g. story-tellers, parents with special talents).
Our qualified and experienced teachers conduct a program which is fun and complies with the curriculum requirements of the VIC Education Department. The program provides a great start for children about to enter school with the added convenience of childcare before and after the program.
We open at 7:30am and close at 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. We close for 2 weeks over the Christmas and New Year holiday period. Please ask the Coordinator for further information about our end of year closing dates.
KOTA is committed to providing affordable quality care for all families. Currently our fees are $92.00 per day or $420 per week. Fees are payable two weeks in advance.
The amount you pay is dependent on the amount of Child Care Benefit you receive. The Commonwealth Government provides Child Care Benefit which is means tested (the amount you receive depends on how much you earn. Centrelink pays the benefit directly to the childcare centre, so you only have to pay the gap between the benefit and the full fee.
